Global search lets you find a contact in seconds without leaving what you are doing. It is accessible from any page in your app, via the magnifying glass icon in the top navigation bar.
How it works
Click the magnifying glass at the top right to open the search bar. Start typing – results appear in real time in a panel below the bar.
The search covers several fields simultaneously:
- Email – ideal if you have the contact’s email address handy
- First name and last name – to find someone by name
- Company name – for organization-based searches
- Address, city, province, country – to find contacts by location
Click on a result to open the contact record directly.
Typical use cases
A client calls you. They give you their name or email. Open the search, type a few characters, and you have access to their record in seconds – their notes, follow-ups, proposals, and invoices.
A store buyer contacts you. Store purchases automatically create a contact record in the CRM. Search by email to find the buyer and review their purchase history in the Activity tab.
A student has a question about their course. Same principle – course registrations feed the CRM. Type the student’s name or email address to find their record.
You are looking for all contacts from the same city or company. For more structured searches on a specific criterion, use filtering queries rather than global search. Search is designed for quick lookups of a specific contact, not for segmentation.
